«FRL (Fiction in Real Life)» – New Section

Fiction is the genre in films, books and T.V. that has been making us asking ourselves of the future of the world; stories like «The Time Machine» by H.G Wells, the superpowers of comic characters like Dr. Manhattan and things like Spider-Man’s natural spiderwebs are things that some of us want to know if they can exist. And if they can, so how would they be?

«Fiction in Real Life» is a new type of blog. I will write in these about stuff of comics, weird superheroes, superpowers or stories, comparing them in real life, and answering to the question «how would they work if they were real?»

First blog, «The Science Behind Superman’s Superpowers», December 30.

See ya, followers. Hope you like the new section.

References/Easter Eggs from Gotham Series: Part 2 (Ep. 3-4)

[All you are reading is written by me, and only me. I remind you this is my opinion, if you have another, you can comment it, I would be interested in knowing it. -AComicReader]

Salvatore Maroni

Other of the crime lords in Gotham. This character was played once by Eric Roberts in Batman: The Dark Knight. I will be fascinated with the confrontation of him with Falcone shown in the show.

Barbara Kean, Ex-Lesbian (or actually bisexual) and Drug Addict

In the last episodes, we could deduce the relationship introduced in the show of Renee and Barbara. While they talk in Barbara apartment, Renee says, «I could sent you to jail for drug deal», is Barbara a drug addict? They kiss at the end, what makes us get to the next point…

Barbara Kean, Batwoman?

When in the series the relationship ended of Renee and Barbara was introduced, I first thought about Barbara being Batwoman, but instead of Maggie Sawyer, Renee Montoya. Are they for real gonna enter this thing of Kate Kane? All we can do is wait for watching what they are planning for us.

Harley Quinn AGAIN

Another Harley appearance? At a scene of Fish bar, a dancer is shown, a blonde! And with the clothes colored red and black! It is actually very exciting this thing about these Easter Eggs in Gotham series.

Egg Head?

Approximately, in chapter 3 at minute 16:40, Gordon and Bullock are talking about the balloonman case with an egg head investigator. This peculiar person acts just like this Batman villain. Easter Egg for Egg Head?

DC Entertainment Films Cast

Marvel Studios has been making films and movies, and has created one of the most incredible Cinematic Universe in the history. We can say Marvel is now the father of DC if we talk about movies, but DC is starting to compete with them with their next productions, and that is exciting, because the fans of DC haven’t seen enough films based on their characters.

Here they are, the cast of DC coming productions:

  • Batman – Ben Affleck
  • Superman – Henry Cavill
  • Wonder Woman – Gal Gadot
  • Shazam – Dwayne Jhonson
  • Cyborg – Ray Fisher
  • Flash – Ezra Miller
  • Aquaman – Jason Momoa
  • Lois Lane – Amy Adams

Green Lantern, Suicide Squad members and others are unknown.

Gotham: Third Episode – Review (Spoilers)

[All you are reading is written by me, and only me. I remind you this is my opinion, if you have another, you can comment it, I would be interested in knowing it. -AComicReader]

FAST SUMMARY

The episode begins as the previous one finished, with the Penguin back; Oswald is in the streets of Gotham starting a new live, introducing in crime. We see another story, «The Balloonman», in which a criminal is tying corrupt politicians to big balloons and leting them go to the sky (Seriously, not a joke).  Bullock tries to make James believe what the Balloonman did was a good action, but James is as straight as always, saying it is a crime, and it needs to be punished.

Selina helps Gordon to find the Waynes Killer. Montoya and Allen detectives investigate the disappeared Oswald, they visit Fish Mooney, who says about Gordon pulling the trigger. Alfred and Bruce have a sword fight, showing their frienship becoming bigger. Alfred finds information of the Waynes crime and Bruce tells him that he wants them for looking for clues of the killer. Detectives Montoya and Allen meet Gordon for clues at the disappearance of Oswald.

Bla, bla, bla…

Mr Cobblepot gets a job at a restaurant. James and Bullock investigate the Balloon man case, they find a suspect. Barbara Kean finds out Montoya in her house, they talk about hoe Gordon is not convenient for Barbara, and about their previous love, Barbara and Montoya were girldfriends?

James, with the help of Bullock, arrests the Balloonman, involving more and more into Gotham, watching its true dark side. Gordon has a little visit by Oswald.

OPINION

This episode wasn’t as good as the previous two, I think changing the writer and the director was a bad idea, I miss Bruno and Danny. In this new episode we see how the friendship between Bruce and Alfred is stronger than ever, and PENGUIN IS BACK, the visit of Oswald to James, was like, OH MY GOD. Nor bad production, nor that good chapter either, it was normal.

Gotham: Second Episode – Review (Spoilers)

[All you are reading is written by me, and only me. I remind you this is my opinion, if you have another, you can comment it, I would be interested in knowing it. -AComicReader]

FAST SUMMARY

This episode starts showing the young Bruce Wayne «testing» himself, putting hs hand above a candle… Introducing Alfred as a person that cares for the child. Gordon and Bullock are solving the case of kidnaped and drugged children. Then Oswald is helped by two guys, they carry him again to the city and in a confidence talk, one of them calls him «penguin», and Mr Cobblepot… Well, kills them. This new story begins, Gotham: Second Episode.

The detectives are still investigating the case of the children, Edward Nygma enters in the scene, provides information for the problem. James asks for publishing the case, but Captain Sarah says NO, that would cause panic and Gordon is forced follow Gotham rules, again.

Bla, bla, bla…

Detectives Allen and Montoya, finding out that Oswald Cobblepot is «dead», go to his mother, Mrs Kapelput, to investigate what hapenned to him.

Oswald arrives at a house for rent, he buys it. The room where all the robbed children are is shown. The detectives go where Fish Mooney is, to know more about the kidnaped kids. Jchildrenames, tired, goes home, with Barbara. He tells she about the case, and she phones police, complaining about the hiden news. The investigation is published in the newspaper.

Gordon finds 3 companies that possess ATP drug, which was used to drug the children (The woman that was one of the people that kinaped the kids, says the «Doll Maker» doesn’t tolerate failure, so now we know for sure that they worked for him). They go direct to them and find out who have been making trouble, the man and the woman escape. «Case closed».

The kids are sent to a place where people can take care of them, but another problem is set here, the people that are taking care for them, are the ones that were kidnapping kids. But no problem, Gordon and Bullock take care of that, and now, case closed.

Alfred Pennyworth asks for James, requesting him for a visit for Bruce, trying to help him. Gordon visits them, and talks to Bruce.

Bla, bla, bla…

The kidnapped children, now save, are sent to another secure place, but Selina is inconformed, and says Gordon, that if he take her out, she would talk about the murder of the Waynes.

The episode finishes showing Oswald with a kidnapped adolescent, asking the mom of the boy $10.000 dollars, but she doesn’t believe him. He threatens the boy saying he would poke his eyeballs out if his mom doesn’t cooperate.

OPINION

In this episode we can see how the relationship between Alfred and Bruce gets stronger little by little. We see another case that helps to introduce James to the corruption of Gotham. Oswald is shown doing his misdeeds, becoming the «Penguin».

If they are gonna present a different story each chapter, I’m gonna be disapointed, it would be better if all the stories of each episode were gonna mix and, well, giving us an end for the series with all the villains complete, like, waiting for Batman. I mean, like if all the little stories were at the end a BIG complete story. But all we need is to wait for the new episode each week, see what they will surprise us with.

Avengers 3 – What We Know/Rumors

With this post, the reviews of Gotham Series, would be posted another day. But this topic is very important, and you may like about this news.

Even Avengers 2 haven’t finished, and rumors about Avengers 3 are rounding in the web. Let’s say it, we all are excited of having Thanos as the villain in this third film, and perhaps Avengers 3 will be a sequel of Guardians of the Galaxy, we still don’t know. Here there are some rumors about Avengers 3 project:

-Absence of Thor, Hulk and Captain America. (I’ll do a review about it)
-Scarlet Witch, Dr Strange and Mrs Marvel in the group.
-The film will be devided in two parts. I think this rumor is very logic, because we don’t know about Thanos yet, and he only has appeared in one movie of Marvel Studios, so in my opinion the first movie would be about presenting the character and showing his plans; and the second, for the giant battle.

Who is Fish Mooney in Gotham Series?

[All you are reading is written by me, and only me. -AComicReader]

Fish Mooney, the name I first searched in Google when I saw the cast of Gotham. I looked for it in many comics of Batman, from its firsts comics, to the New 52 issues, but Fish Mooney wasn’t there.

I saw the first 2 chapters of Gotham series, and Mooney seemed to be very important in the story. But good news, Fish Mooney is a name that even the biggest fan of Batman can’t remember, because it was created for the T.V series. This woman is the boss of Oswald Cobblepot, and works for Falcone. And there is a GIANT possibility that he will forge Gotham villains.

She can be an original character, but she is very important in the series, she is like a crime lord, the one that will make Gordon’s life impossible and won’t stop Gotham’s corruption, She is Mooney, Fish Mooney.

References/Easter Eggs from Gotham Series (Ep. 1-2)

[All you are reading is written by me, and only me. -AComicReader]

I remind you this is my opinion, if you have another, you can comment it, I would be interested in knowing it.

The Murder of the Waynes

The origins of Batman has been told every time DC can. But this time the scene of the crime won’t be used to present Bruce’s past, it will be used to define the first case that will join all the characters.

Bruce/Selina

From the beginning Selina was witness of the murder of Bruce’s parents, their stories will be joined by a series of events that will finish in their love/friendship chapter by chapter.

Mario Pepper Lives in 4th and Grundy

When Harvey is at a bar, and phones James to meet in Street Fourth and Grundy, that is a reference for the Batman villain, Salomon Grundy.

Allen and Montoya Detectives

It was obvious that some of Gotham Central references will appear in the show, like Renee Montoya and Crispus Allen, two detectives from comics.

Harley Quinn and the Joker?

When Harvey meets Fish to talk, next to them there are many dancers with red and black dresses, possible Harley Quinn?
When Harvey phones Fish to take James with him, Mooney’s listening to a boy, telling jokes, possible Joker?
If I am right, Harley and the Joker work for Fish, so they will meet and become the two best Batman villains of all time.

Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot Kapelput, the Penguin

Almost all the pilot chapter was dedicated to him, it is shown how Gotham charms him, transforming his innocent face into a psycho. Laughing while beating a poor man, and killing an old man just for food. It is also shown how he hates being called «Penguin».

Edward Nashton, the Riddler

Edward Nygma, E. Nigma, Eddie Nashton, the RIDDLER. The introduction of this character was being an investigator that works with the Detectives James and Harvey, loving rids, investigations and questions.

Ivy Pepper

It is obvious that she is Poison Ivy. In her apartment we can see many plants and flowers, living full of nature, and having a dead father, pushing she to commit crimes.

Lesbianism?

When Renee visits Barbara Kean to talk about the framed Mario Pepper, perhaps Montoya wants Barbara and James to brake up, perhaps Renee will be homosexual in the series as in comics.

Selina Vs Fish?

Okay, this is a crazy idea I made in my mind. In comics Selina Kyle is the daughter of Falcone and I don’t know how they are going to enter this story in the series, but Fish Mooney wants Falcone out, and if she pushes him out (Killing him, perhaps, or leaving him in misery), perhaps Selina and Fish are gonna hate each other. A really complex and crazy idea, that may be in the show.
