References/Easter Eggs from Gotham Series (Ep. 1-2)

[All you are reading is written by me, and only me. -AComicReader]

I remind you this is my opinion, if you have another, you can comment it, I would be interested in knowing it.

The Murder of the Waynes

The origins of Batman has been told every time DC can. But this time the scene of the crime won’t be used to present Bruce’s past, it will be used to define the first case that will join all the characters.

Bruce/Selina

From the beginning Selina was witness of the murder of Bruce’s parents, their stories will be joined by a series of events that will finish in their love/friendship chapter by chapter.

Mario Pepper Lives in 4th and Grundy

When Harvey is at a bar, and phones James to meet in Street Fourth and Grundy, that is a reference for the Batman villain, Salomon Grundy.

Allen and Montoya Detectives

It was obvious that some of Gotham Central references will appear in the show, like Renee Montoya and Crispus Allen, two detectives from comics.

Harley Quinn and the Joker?

When Harvey meets Fish to talk, next to them there are many dancers with red and black dresses, possible Harley Quinn?
When Harvey phones Fish to take James with him, Mooney’s listening to a boy, telling jokes, possible Joker?
If I am right, Harley and the Joker work for Fish, so they will meet and become the two best Batman villains of all time.

Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot Kapelput, the Penguin

Almost all the pilot chapter was dedicated to him, it is shown how Gotham charms him, transforming his innocent face into a psycho. Laughing while beating a poor man, and killing an old man just for food. It is also shown how he hates being called «Penguin».

Edward Nashton, the Riddler

Edward Nygma, E. Nigma, Eddie Nashton, the RIDDLER. The introduction of this character was being an investigator that works with the Detectives James and Harvey, loving rids, investigations and questions.

Ivy Pepper

It is obvious that she is Poison Ivy. In her apartment we can see many plants and flowers, living full of nature, and having a dead father, pushing she to commit crimes.

Lesbianism?

When Renee visits Barbara Kean to talk about the framed Mario Pepper, perhaps Montoya wants Barbara and James to brake up, perhaps Renee will be homosexual in the series as in comics.

Selina Vs Fish?

Okay, this is a crazy idea I made in my mind. In comics Selina Kyle is the daughter of Falcone and I don’t know how they are going to enter this story in the series, but Fish Mooney wants Falcone out, and if she pushes him out (Killing him, perhaps, or leaving him in misery), perhaps Selina and Fish are gonna hate each other. A really complex and crazy idea, that may be in the show.
