OPINION

In this episode we can see how the relationship between Alfred and Bruce gets stronger little by little. We see another case that helps to introduce James to the corruption of Gotham. Oswald is shown doing his misdeeds, becoming the «Penguin».

If they are gonna present a different story each chapter, I’m gonna be disapointed, it would be better if all the stories of each episode were gonna mix and, well, giving us an end for the series with all the villains complete, like, waiting for Batman. I mean, like if all the little stories were at the end a BIG complete story. But all we need is to wait for the new episode each week, see what they will surprise us with.

OPINION

Cast

-In the option of Grant Gustin as Barry Allen I think was a good election, he’s like a young Barry, but that’s not problem, because the series occurs in an ambient of a Barry not married, yet, we don’t know if we’ll see a married Flash in next seasons.

-With Candice Patton as Iris West was a surprise, I didn’t expect for a brunette actress.

-Danielle Panabaker as Dr Caitlin Snow, oh my god. This will be very interesting, watching Danielle acting like Killer Frost, with the sadness of her husband dead, and the killings and the stuff. Wow.

-With Rick Cosnett as Eboard Thawne was a really good option with the physics, we need to watch him fighting with Barry, and using his powers, and returning to the past and… Rick is perfect to play Eddie, with an innocent look that hides a dark intention.

Chapter Story

-At the beginning of the chapter is told the past of Barry, the death of his mother, how his father was put in jail because of that and stuff… It would be better if the main character was presented little by little.

-Talking about Flash origins, it is same as comic’s story, Barry Allen is struck by lightning, and he gets his powers.

-But, I’m not that convinced with how Barry learned he had the powers. If I started to move that fast, I would be scary, I would ask like, What’s happening to me? Well, this is not normal, am I dreaming? Can this be real?, but NO; in the series Barry starts running faster little by little and after crashing a garbage truck, says, «Awesome». Really? REALLY? And after that the doctors that treated Barry are teaching him how to use his powers! That wouldn’t happen in real life, I know that Flash is science fiction, but we are in 21th century, we have to be more realistic. In my opinion Barry should have been scared, and would be asking the doctors what the hell happened to his body in the 9 months of comma, not asking for help to learn to use that velocity!

-All I have told before (Talking about…use that velocity!), occurred in the first 15 minutes of the Pilot Chapter. Director tried to introduce Flash the fast as possible, and it’s not bad of introducing the main character at the very beginning, but in this series 20 years are told in 15 minutes. That doesn’t work like that.

-The first villain, Weather Wizard (Mark Mardon), is shown attacking the streets of central city, but he is gone before Barry could do something. Then before finishing the chapter Flash and Mark have the first fight. Mark tries to attack some cops, but Barry arrives at the exact moment and saves them, Mark is shot and falls in the floor. The scene changes and it is not explained what happened to Mardon, he is just, like… He disappears, I don’t know, it is not shown.

-… And at the very final of the chapter Dr Harrison appears in a place that seems to be a secret lab, with walls full of Braille, and after touching a strange apparatus, is shown a future news paper with the title, «FLASH MISSING: Vanishes in Crisis». I liked that detail, giving us with the doubts…
-The Pilot Chapter had many things, and the time wasn’t divided as it needs to be.

-What happened to Mark Mardon, was he arrested? What’s planning Dr Harrison Wells? What will happening with the relation of Barry with Iris? Questions to be answered in next chapter.

Other

-Soundtrack, really good.
-Special effects, they are awesome, but they are where they don’t have to be. Effects are used when is not needed.
